Why trekkers
choose WorldMore.

We built this policy by talking to guides, mountaineers, and expedition leaders. Every clause exists for a reason.

No Altitude Caps

Standard travel insurance cuts out at 3,000m. We cover you to the summit — whether that's Everest Base Camp, Kilimanjaro, or Aconcagua.

Altitude Sickness Cover

AMS, HACE, and HAPE are explicitly covered. Emergency descent, medical treatment, and evacuation if symptoms become serious.

Remote Location Rescue

Helicopter evacuation from remote trails costs $30,000+. We cover up to $500,000 in search and rescue, including satellite phone activation.

Gear Protection

Trekking poles, sleeping bags, boots, and technical clothing. Up to $3,000 coverage for the equipment that keeps you safe on the trail.

Trip Interruption

Weather delays, trail closures, or illness forcing early return? Get reimbursed for unused trek fees, accommodation, and rebooking costs.

24/7 Global Assist

English-speaking emergency line with coordinators experienced in mountain rescue logistics. We know who to call in Nepal, Peru, and Tanzania.

Common questions.

Everything trekkers ask before hitting the trail.

What altitude is covered?

Trekking is covered up to 7,000 metres. Routes under 5,000m are covered automatically. Routes between 5,000m and 7,000m are covered when guided and on recognised routes. Activity above 7,000m falls into technical mountaineering territory and sits outside the policy definition.

Is altitude sickness covered?

Yes. We cover Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), High Altitude Cerebral Edema (HACE), and High Altitude Pulmonary Edema (HAPE). This includes emergency medical treatment, descent assistance, and evacuation if required.

How does helicopter evacuation work?

If you're in a remote location and need emergency extraction, call our 24/7 assistance line. We coordinate directly with local rescue services and cover costs up to $500,000. In Nepal, we work with established helicopter operators who can reach most trekking routes within hours.

Can I buy insurance after starting my trek?

Yes, you can purchase WorldMore coverage from anywhere in the world and it starts immediately. However, we recommend buying before departure for the best rates and to ensure pre-trip cancellation coverage.

Are guides and porters covered on my policy?

Your policy covers you as the named traveller. Guides and porters typically have their own coverage through their employer or trekking agency. We can provide group policies for expeditions — contact us for details.
